About The Position

The Maintenance Manager US is responsible for maintenance and upkeep of the company’s building and physical assets, ensuring that they meet legal requirements and health and safety standards. This role will manage the overall maintenance program and ensure that downtime is minimized, and all process equipment is in proper working order.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; post secondary education or trade school preferred
  • Two-year technical certification in electrical or mechanical training preferred
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a maintenance technician role in a manufacturing or production environment required
  • Proven operating experience with hand and power tools, machinery and conveyor systems and have a general understanding of the manufacturing processes, quality standards, equipment operations and safety requirements
  • Commitment to adhere to and experience in statutory and legislative standards, Good Manufacturing Practices, Health and Safety, Food Safety, HACCP, PrimusGFS
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment, demonstrate keen attention to detail and task-related accuracy, as well as consistent follow-through skills
  • Able to work independently with minimal instruction and high accountability while also able to work with others
  • Sound analytical, problem solving and troubleshooting skills; strong math skills
  • Computer Skills; basic understanding of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Steel toed shoes are required
  • Must be flexible to shift assignments as required to meet both customer & business needs
  • Knowledge of food handling equipment, such as pumps, hydraulics, pneumatic systems, electrical and process control systems and utility systems such as compressed air and industrial waste systems
  • Working knowledge in refrigeration systems, preventative maintenance programs and solid knowledge of industrial electricity and associated standards
  • Responsible for driving PM’s, critical spares inventory and Limble CMMS system
  • Responsible for contracting and interacting with suppliers/contractors

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and perform repairs and preventative maintenance on building and equipment; identify damage and resolve safety risks
  • Regular inspection of all electrical, mechanical and other facility and processing equipment
  • Respond to maintenance calls, troubleshoot, and complete work orders in a timely manner
  • Develop and record equipment and preventative maintenance tasks and work orders
  • Maintain inventory or tools and spare parts and report usage; suggest re-orders to personnel with authority
  • Coordinate with members of the Food Safety department to ensure proper record keeping and compliance with Food Safety processes and procedures
  • Conduct preventative maintenance and end of life replacement plan for building and equipment assets
  • Support scheduling of equipment and service contractors for outsourced equipment maintenance and record keeping of services performed, supporting invoicing verification and processing
  • Manage and participate in the equipment development, maintenance and repairs
  • Optimize cost through effective budget planning, resources management and reduction in reactionary purchases and repairs
  • Adhere to industry standards and waste disposal procedures set forth by regulatory agencies
  • Other core expectations as defined by the company
