About The Position

The Maintenance Manager will be responsible for planning and execution of all aircraft maintenance operations for the KC-46 aircraft located at Edwards AFB to ensure fulfillment of contract requirements and program objectives. Essential Responsibilities: Identified as the primary point of contact for management of day-to-day maintenance activities and will act as the on-site liaison with the Government pertaining to maintenance activities. Ensures the execution of aircraft maintenance, flying schedules, and other activities are being accomplished in a safe appropriate manner acceptable to the Government and in accordance with the contract performance work statement/statement of work. Responsible for assigning daily work assignments for the maintenance workforce. Fully coordinate and collaborate on all tasks, activities, requirements, and issues as they pertain to the maintenance support to the customer. Develop plans and schedules and define and document the implementation of requirements. Ensures only qualified personnel accomplish maintenance with the appropriate equipment and tools. Ensures compliance with safety directives, appropriate occupational safety and health standards, and applicable industrial safety publications. Those occupational training requirements that require documentation will be annotated on the appropriate records. Reviews and evaluates management and production effectiveness. Analyzes personnel and equipment performance history using quality assurance reports. Initiates management actions to meet new workloads or correct reported/perceived deficiencies. Manages the maintenance planning cycle and ensures accurate daily documentation of maintenance actions. Identify potential downstream issues that may negatively affect meeting customers’ requirements and provide recommendations to mitigate those negative impacts Manage the customers' expectations with proactive, consistent, and transparent communication. Overseeing the monitoring and inspection of maintenance, repair, and service operations for quality control and contract compliance. Ensuring that management and contract reports are accurate before submission. In the absence of the Site Program Manager, the Maintenance Manager shall be responsible for all aspects of contractual requirements. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum of fifteen (15) years of diverse management experience including experience in aviation systems. Education will be considered in lieu of experience.
  • Possess excellent communication, analytical, project management and supervisory skills.
  • Desktop computer skills are essential with proficiency in full range of Microsoft Office products and should be capable of preparing management level reports and presentations.
  • Possess a valid state issued driver's license.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain U.S. Secret clearance.
  • NOTE: U.S. citizenship is required for facility credentials/authorization at this work site.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of academic/technical/military training and experience preferred.
  • Experience in Flight test, evaluation and integration activities.
