Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field. An MBA or other advanced degree is preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years in Plant Maintenance leadership roles supporting manufacturing and/or utility operations.
  • Proven ability to build and develop high-performing teams with effective coaching and inspirational leadership.
  • Experience in leading maintenance teams, including reliability-centered programs.
  • Successful experience in managing people in a dynamic environment and a proven track record of developing people.
  • Experience within a highly regulated environment is required.
  • Strong knowledge in asset optimization, life cycle management, and project management.
  • Knowledgeable in regulatory requirements and equipment system qualification and validation.
  • Significant experience in powder and liquid processing and packaging of food products, preferably within a highly regulated food or pharmaceutical environment.
  • Knowledge of engineering and maintenance concepts and industry technology, project management, reliability practices, financial management related to capital/expense spending, MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Operations), CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems), etc.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes and mastery of utility sustainability, power supply, and demand.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a world-class Maintenance Program, covering predictive, preventative, and reactive maintenance, planned and unplanned maintenance, replacement part optimization, training and development, equipment history, and cost minimization to enhance overall plant performance.
  • Communicate a clear vision for a fully integrated Maintenance team aligned with company goals.
  • Provide leadership in plant maintenance by identifying and introducing innovative solutions that drive continuous improvement.
  • Drive continuous improvement by exploring industry trends, developing strategies, and implementing leading-edge technology and innovative solutions to develop core areas, new alternatives, and relevant strategies.
  • Establish, align, and execute capital spending strategies to effectively identify and invest in company assets.
  • Understand procurement policies and work cross-functionally to ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures.
  • Develop staff and build a high-performing team through a performance management process that sets expectations, ensures ongoing coaching/mentoring, and assesses employee performance.
  • Lead projects and teams supporting large-scale company initiatives.
  • Drive continuous improvement in energy conservation, waste management, recycling, and the reduction of water usage.
  • Implement and sustain TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) methodologies, including analytical, critical thinking, and structured root cause analysis techniques for problem-solving.
  • Build technical competencies within the maintenance team, identify and select maintenance talent as needed to support developing technology, and provide opportunities for knowledge acquisition and skills transfer within the team.
  • Effectively control the R&M (Repairs and Maintenance) budget for the operation, with the expectation of meeting monthly and annual budgets.
  • Ensure all action items, including CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Actions), change control, and Safety action items, are closed in a timely manner.
  • Propose and monitor key performance indicators.
  • Monitor plant/equipment to ensure optimal operation and reduce planned/unplanned downtime.
  • Partner with Production and Quality Management daily to resolve technical and/or operational issues.
  • Establish and manage yearly, monthly, and weekly maintenance plans to ensure essential maintenance is completed within a reasonable time.
  • Manage relationships with third-party maintenance, suppliers, and equipment contractors.
