About The Position

This position is responsible for supervising the maintenance of production equipment, buildings, and utilities, including ammonia compressors, offal, and the Wastewater Department. Responsibilities include assisting with planning and implementing plant improvements and expansions; ensuring that all maintenance personnel are well trained on the most updated version of operating equipment as well as other maintenance skills; providing a safe workplace and complying with all safety and regulated programs; monitoring operation of plant equipment and systems constantly to minimize unplanned downtime; anticipating and solving problems in a timely manner and identifying issues; establishing and maintaining a computerized maintenance management system (SAP) for tracking work orders and ensuring adequate and appropriate inventory of replacement parts; making recommendations for improving plant operations and solving maintenance-related problems through analyzing data; ensuring that all maintenance personnel are properly trained, equipped, and motivated so maintenance programs and processes can be accomplished in a safe, timely, and efficient manner; ensuring the Costal Training system is in place and communicated to maintenance personnel and providing the resources for skillsets needed; and maintaining a tracking system that assists in analyzing key maintenance parameters such as asset utilization, maintenance cost, PM compliance, etc. Other duties include ensuring all safety, health, OSHA, PSM, and environmental policies and procedures are in compliance with company policy as well as local, state, and federal regulations; ensuring the safety program is communicated and enforced; monitoring and administering purchasing and use of all parts, equipment, materials, and supplies utilized in the maintenance department; ensuring refrigeration and wastewater systems are well maintained and meet all regulatory guidelines; and administering the maintenance budget and ensuring the achievement of financial goals.

Requirements

  • Experience: 1 year maintenance experience.
  • Computer Skills: Standard computer skills.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; some public speaking skills.
  • Special Skills: Industrial Maintenance in fields such as electrical refrigeration hydraulics or mechanical.
  • Supervisory: Responsible for supervising a group of personnel who perform similar or interrelated tasks.
  • Travel: 1-5 domestic trips per year.
