About The Position

The Industrial Maintenance Technician is responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining machinery and mechanical equipment. This role involves troubleshooting and repairing electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, as well as ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. The technician will work on a 3/2 schedule, which means working 3 days one week and 4 days the next week, primarily during 12-hour night shifts. Candidates must be willing to work alternative shifts, weekends, and overtime as required. The position requires the use of industry-specific tools, which must be supplied by the technician.

Requirements

  • Minimum qualifications for consideration are a high school degree (or equivalent experience).
  • Five years of maintenance experience with at least one year with the same employer.
  • Highly-qualified candidates would possess a technical degree or apprenticeship certification and maintenance experience in the corrugated industry or similar manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Installs, repairs, and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment.
  • Troubleshoots and repairs Electrical, Mechanical, Hydraulic, and Pneumatic Systems.
  • Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation.
  • Disassembles machinery and removes/replaces defective parts.
  • Determines when wear items are due to be replaced by measuring and inspecting during preventative maintenance.
  • Uses SAP to account for time worked and to issue parts from storeroom.
  • Requests repair parts by finding part numbers in OEM prints.
  • Maintains a safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Monitors and maintains high pressure boiler system.
  • Conducts maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs.
  • Checks functionality of safety systems (e.g. fire alarm).
  • Troubleshoots PLCs, VFDs, DC Drives, and touchscreens.
  • Troubleshoots and replaces AC & DC motor systems.
  • Controls downtime by communicating with supervisors to plan needed repairs.
  • Conducts daily PM and machine condition monitoring tasks, and documents findings in SAP.
  • Troubleshoots and repairs shipping equipment including power strapping machines, forklifts, pusher attachments, dock locks, and levelers.
