About The Position

Maintenance LV2 Technician is a highly skilled and self-sufficient professional capable of maintaining and repairing manufacturing equipment. Pitt Plastics is a plastics extrusion facility in Columbus, Ohio. We're looking for a talented multi-trade maintenance person. Candidates must have previous manufacturing maintenance and minor electrical experience. Only candidates with this experience will be considered for this position. We run a 24/7 facility so candidates for this position would need to be available to work any shift, including weekends and on a call-in basis. Paid training on site. Safety focused organization!

Requirements

  • Requires extensive experience in machine repair, as well as thorough knowledge of and troubleshooting skills in mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems throughout the facility.
  • Candidates must have experience installing and programming AC variable frequency drives and industrial electrical. Only candidates with this experience will be considered for this position.
  • Must possess strong mechanical and communications skills and have a strong general knowledge of plant maintenance.
  • Candidates should have dependable attendance and demonstrate a willingness to accommodate non-standard work hours as necessary.
  • Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) (Steel Toed Shoes, Ear Plugs, and Safety Glasses)
  • Ability to exert muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects up to 50 lbs. (frequently)
  • Ability to stand and change positions frequently over an eight-hour period.
  • Ability to bend, stretch, twist, or reach with your body, arms, and or legs. (frequently)
  • Ability to see (in low light), hear spoken words, and verbally communicate.
  • Must possess basic plumbing, electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic skills prior to hiring.

Nice To Haves

  • Three years or more related experience preferred in a manufacturing facility.
  • High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Operate with little to no daily supervision, demonstrating self-motivation and accountability in carrying out maintenance tasks.
  • Inspect and listen to machinery and equipment to identify and locate malfunctions, allowing for early detection and proactive maintenance.
  • Tests the operation of machines and equipment to verify proper functioning and reliability.
  • Assist in identifying spare parts required for equipment repair and complete requisitions accurately to ensure timely procurement.
  • Becomes an owner of one group of equipment, taking full responsibility for maintenance, repairs, troubleshooting, and rebuilds on that machine class.
