About The Position

The Maintenance I position consists of working in one or more of the following areas:   Handling Equipment maintenance, Storage and building maintenance. We are looking for dependable hardworking individuals with good work habits and a willingness to be cross trained in all three areas. In addition, we need someone who works well with others and is self-motivated. Duties and Responsibilities include the following: Daily operating log sheets of plant equipment Help with PM’s and maintenance Assist supervision/management as needed. Follow all company policies, procedures and guidelines and work instructions. Be professional and courteous to team members. Being able to help on PM’s and maintenance of all handling equipment. Service 1000 amp batteries and their chargers. Mechanical and electrical work on equipment. Change Batteries Battery Extractor Batteries/chargers Hydraulics Experience with forklifts and large industrial Battery maintenance. General and preventive maintenance including rack repair. Administration experience to complete daily log check sheets. Building maintenance experience including Freezer doors, Dock doors and dock levelers.   Storage and Building Maintenance Daily operating log sheets and recordkeeping. Being able to perform PM’s on the following equipment. Freezer and overhead doors Dock equipment and seals. Floor repair. Fire Sprinkler—Leaks and log sheets. A/C Some general electrical and plumbing. Racking All areas on the exterior of the building.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1 to 3 years preferred
  • Excellent communication skills, written and oral
  • Candidates may be required to successfully complete a mechanical aptitude test
  • Good arithmetic, reading, and typing skills
  • Sit and/or stand for extended periods of time
  • Be able to see, speak and hear
  • Ability to work overtime as needed
  • May require physical effort associated with using the computer to access information, or occasional standing, walking, lifting needed to carry out everyday activities.
  • Understand and follow verbal instruction, written instruction and company policies.
  • An employee who can work independently and coordinate with others
  • Must follow all safety policies and procedures.
  • Always maintain a professional manner in appearance and communications.
  • Participate in staff, vendor and/or customer meetings if required.
  • Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of any non-conformities relating to product, process, and quality systems.
  • Identify and record any issues relating to product, processes and/or quality.
  • Initiate, recommend, or provide solutions through appropriate channels.
  • Verify the implementation of solutions.
  • Must always follow all company security policies and procedures while on-site
  • Participate in Safety and Educational Training.
