About The Position

The primary responsibility of this position is to provide assistance and guidance to fellow maintenance technicians in relation to all aspects of repairs, assignments, and maintenance processes. The role involves leading and coordinating the work of other maintenance technicians, providing maintenance, MHE, and refrigeration support as necessary to ensure operational objectives are met. The technician will assist the supervisor/manager with daily operational needs and will direct and oversee the work of contractors. The position requires oversight of maintenance associates to ensure execution of department objectives while performing duties associated with the maintenance technician role. This includes operation, repair, and adjustment of refrigeration systems, monitoring system performance, troubleshooting MHE, building, and refrigeration equipment systems, and ensuring compliance with safety standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • 5+ years industrial maintenance experience OR minimum of 2 years of industrial maintenance experience plus relevant supervisory or lead experience.
  • Skilled in all disciplines of maintenance (industrial refrigeration, material handling equipment, plumbing, electrical, and building maintenance).
  • Required to successfully complete assigned Industrial Refrigeration and maintenance courses.
  • Required to train in HAZMAT; obtain and maintain certification.
  • Certified to test sprinkler systems (where applicable) or able to gain certification within 90 days from hire date.
  • High level of knowledge with OSHA PSM programs required.
  • Knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management System.
  • Competent and demonstrable computer skills.

Nice To Haves

  • CARO and CIRO certification.
  • Experience using Oracle Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Experience overseeing and inspecting work performed by all levels of maintenance associates.
  • Experience training and developing less experienced technicians.

Responsibilities

  • Provide assistance and guidance to fellow maintenance technicians.
  • Lead and coordinate the work of other maintenance technicians.
  • Provide maintenance, MHE, and refrigeration support.
  • Assist supervisor/manager with daily operational needs.
  • Direct and oversee the work of contractors.
  • Perform operation, repair, and adjustment of refrigeration systems.
  • Monitor system performance and recommend corrective actions.
  • Engage in troubleshooting of MHE, building, and refrigeration equipment systems.
  • Replace components within the refrigeration system following safe LOTO procedures.
  • Analyze equipment performance and develop solutions to improve reliability.
  • Review inspection and repair reports and observe progress of work.
  • Inspect completed work for compliance with blueprints and safety standards.
  • Lead and maintain Maintenance Excellence efforts across the site.
  • Ensure accurate preventive maintenance records within the CMMS System.
  • Keep work area and tools well maintained and organized.
  • Perform related work and other job assignments as required.
  • Lead the capability development of facility technicians.
  • Ensure effective communication across all shifts of maintenance.
  • Ensure compliance with all company, local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Work flexible shifts if required, including on-call.
