About The Position

Maintenance Mechanic Lead 3rd Shift Location: Jefferson, WI Type: Full-Time Schedule: 3rd Shift Join Our Team as a Maintenance Lead in Food Manufacturing Are you an industrial maintenance professional with a strong background in food processing or bakery manufacturing? POSITION SUMMARY The Maintenance Lead is responsible for supervising and scheduling equipment maintenance and as appropriate maintenance for other areas of the plant. The role is responsible for ensuring preventative and unscheduled maintenance on all machines and equipment is completed. Additionally, this role is responsible for ensuring documentation in required maintenance logs and files is completed accurately and in a timely fashion. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Requirements

  • Associates degree or technical certification, mechanical field required.
  • 8+ years of mechanical experience or combination of experience and education
  • Intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft Suite; database management and recordkeeping are a plus.
  • Knowledge of welding equipment, plumbing equipment and/or measuring equipment is a plus.

Nice To Haves

  • working knowledge of processing/packaging equipment in food industry a plus.
  • 1+ years direct people leadership; a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule maintenance workers according to departmental needs, including monitoring hours by checking for accuracy and approving hours worked from previous day for all maintenance workers.
  • Train team on diagnosing and troubleshooting breakdowns to increase efficiency, provide feedback to Manager on employee performance, and reviews work of all maintenance workers.
  • Review scheduled workload and set departmental workload priorities.
  • Install, repair, rebuild and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment used in production, packaging, and all other plant areas.
  • Perform maintenance including preventative maintenance on all equipment; requesting parts or consulting with vendors as needed.
  • Troubleshoot controls such as, PLC’s, HMI’s, VFD’s, servos, robotics, and programable devices.
  • Maintain required maintenance logs and files.
  • Perform maintenance on the buildings, facilities, and other appropriate areas or consult with vendors for completion.
  • Ensure routine housekeeping activities in the department areas are completed and ensure adherence to established safety procedures and requirements.
  • Generate suggestions for improvement.
  • Support and promote all company policies including maintaining company expectations for people and food safety.
