Primary responsibilities involve leading and coordinating the Maintenance Department with building/grounds maintenance, installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting plant equipment, and ensuring the daily reduction of downtime in production.
Coordinates and assigns work to Maintenance employees
Ensure work was completed efficiently, cost-effective and timely
Determines material, equipment, and supplies to be used.
Transfer equipment and personnel from one project to another as necessary
Ensure all safety, housekeeping, and environmental rules and guidelines are followed
Perform installation, inspection, and repair of plant equipment such as Metal detectors , Baggers , Sealers and Scales
Assist employees with diagnosing malfunctions in machinery, equipment, or work processes
Interpret instructions, specifications, and blueprints for equipment installation, operation, and repairs
Responsible for training and leading the Lockout/Tagout Program
Recommend measures to improve operations and condition of equipment
Provide training to employees on quality standards and safe performance of equipment and tools
Provide appropriate equipment and racking to ensure the safe transport and storage of materials
Perform electrical work, welding, and other duties as needed
Ensure all pertinent data related to maintenance activities are correct and documented according to company and regulatory regulations
Coordinates renovations of existing facilities and the construction of new facilities
Oversee and inspect outside contractors on any electrical, plumbing, and mechanical projects
Adhere to all current SOPs, procedures, and quality requirements
Perform other job-related duties and responsibilities as assigned
5 to 7 years of previous Industrial Maintenance Experience
Strong knowledge of plant maintenance operations (including production equipment), material handling equipment, electrical PLCs, AC/DC motors and controls, mechanical power transmissions, gear drives, and speed ratios
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret written instructions
Thorough working knowledge of all tools, procedures, and methods utilized in an industrial maintenance environment
Thorough working knowledge of all electrical, mechanical systems, and electronic applications in an industrial environment
Experience with metalworking and fabrication equipment
Able to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems
Able to manage several plant-wide tasks concurrently
Familiar with all applicable safety and environmental codes, rules, and regulations as applied
Must be flexible with hours, possibility for OT
Frequently required to lift and/or push up to 50lbs
Possession of a current and valid driver’s license
Ability to prioritize and learn quickly
Good verbal and written communication skills
Ability to multi-task
Strong attention to detail
Strong organizational skills
Analytical and Mechanically inclined
Ability to use percentages, add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
Computer literacy
High School Degree Required
Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.
Associates Degree Preferred
PLC programming certification Preferred
Electrical/Mechanical certification preferred
