About The Position

American Excelsior Company is seeking a Maintenance Lead to join our team. This position offers competitive wages, great benefits, and several opportunities for growth. The position is responsible for working under the direction of the Plant Manager while leading all activities of the maintenance department. This is a working lead position that oversees and works alongside the Maintenance Technician to accomplish all maintenance activities for the plant, most notably the maintenance of manufacturing machines. Saturdays will be required at times, specifically and most frequently during peak season from approximately April through October. Overtime, extended shifts, and callbacks may be required. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or 5+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Strong technical aptitude
  • Understanding and knowledge of common hand and power tools
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Strong time management skills required
  • Must be able to work well individually and in a team environment

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of PLC-based machinery, including HMI navigation, system diagnostics, and automation controls a plus

Responsibilities

  • Work under direction of Plant Manager to determine maintenance priorities, activities, initiatives, and expenditures
  • Oversee daily activities of Maintenance Technician and provide coaching when necessary
  • Conduct research and acquire quotes to present to Plant Manager for external maintenance services and parts purchasing, as needed
  • Perform machine repairs within the work order and preventive maintenance systems
  • Locate machine parts and components within the maintenance inventory system
  • Assist in troubleshooting in all areas of manufacturing
  • Participate in completion of daily, weekly, and other scheduled maintenance tasks or preventative maintenance
  • Replace minor machine parts or components
  • Replace minor electrical machine components
  • Perform basic alignment and calibrations
  • Follow all safety guidelines and standard operating procedures
  • Inform appropriate employees of potential electrical/mechanical problems and inherent dangers involved
  • Work within filing systems including work requests, catalogs, drawings and technical manuals
  • Maintain company-required machine and equipment records
  • Participate in facility housekeeping and remain alert to potential hazardous conditions and situations
  • Perform other duties as assigned
