The Maintenance Lead is responsible for performing various tasks to aid daily operations at our facility. The duties shall vary by situation and the assigned area within an industrial manufacturing plant, office, and seasonal outdoor environment.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of current electrical practices, electrical codes, electrical safety and equipment.
  • Experience with installation of conduit, wires, motors, and related equipment.
  • Experience with installation and repair of lighting and fixtures.
  • Experience with machine repair and Installation.
  • Experience with work cell design and implementation.
  • Technical knowledge and ability to read blueprints, electrical ladder logic, control schematics and P&ID’s.
  • Ability to use hand and power tools.
  • Ability to work in groups or alone.
  • Knowledge of sprinkler systems and fire pump.
  • Experience with completed installation test (Hi-Pot, Point-to-Point, Continuity).
  • Ability to use measuring equipment.
  • Mechanically inclined and willing to assist in mechanical installations.
  • DEC conformance (14001 aspects).
  • Two-year electrical degree, Vocational training, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Facilities / Maintenance capacity.
  • A diverse background knowledge in mechanical and electrical assemblies.
  • Minimum of two years of documented electrical work experience which includes installation of conduit, wire, and electrical circuit breakers; troubleshoot, repair and replacement of motors, motor starters, overloads and other power distribution/control equipment.
  • High mental and visual effort are required.
  • Manual dexterity and strength/stamina to perform tasks.
  • Proficient in the use of common hand and power tools.
  • Knowledge of electrical circuits, motor control systems, PLC’s, VFD’s, electrical ladder diagrams, control system schematics, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  • Ability to perform common computer functions.
  • Understanding of quality control principles.
  • Ability to communicate and work well with others.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the supervision of the Facilities / Maintenance Department.
  • Assist Facilities Manager in establishing controls and procedures required to properly maintain building and production related equipment.
  • Assure compliance to all building and safety (OSHA) related codes.
  • Responsible for installation of conduit and wire, motors and related equipment, repair of production machinery, electrical services as needed for electrical and mechanical Facility, HVAC, and Production equipment.
  • Monitor Facilities / Maintenance personnel within company guidelines.
  • Establish and maintain working procedures.
  • Evaluate, recommend, and maintain the Facilities budget.
  • Supervise and coordinate activities engaged in installing, repairing and maintaining machinery and equipment.
  • Adhere to the preventative maintenance program.
  • Develop solutions to production, process and facility problems.
  • Measure and report weekly/monthly/annual departmental performance.
  • Analyze mechanical and operational problems on assigned equipment and plan for and take corrective action.
  • Make necessary corrections and running adjustments to maintain maximum production and quality.
  • Review production schedule and perform scheduled maintenance when equipment is not scheduled for manufacturing.
  • Test equipment to check operation, and after repairs, changeovers, or extended downtime.
  • Install electrical control panels, motors, transformers, breaker panels and switches.
  • Perform general setup of VFD’s.
  • Identify engineering errors and report to supervision.
  • Notify supervisor of recurring malfunctions and corrective action taken, and of quality problems or supplies needed.
  • Work in accordance with all company policies.
  • Make suggestions on design upgrades.
