About The Position

The Maintenance Lead coordinates and or performs work involving two or more maintenance skills to keep machines, mechanical equipment, or structure of an establishment in repair.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Technical or vocational training in maintenance related fields is preferred
  • Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician in a manufacturing or industrial setting
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems
  • Proficient in reading technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams
  • Experience with PLCs and other manufacturing control systems is an advantage
  • Knowledge of Extrusion Molding machines and their functions are preferred
  • 5 years of industrial manufacturing experience
  • Experience in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical and electrical systems
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to use Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Lift and carry 50 pounds
  • Bend, turn and lift while performing the job
  • Climb stairs
  • Work on scissor lifts at heights of 20 feet
  • Stand for 8 hours, with appropriate break times.
  • Ability to work around hot items
  • Possess the knowledge of lock out, tag out (LOTO)
  • Use the correct personal protected equipment (PPE) while performing maintenance tasks
  • Participate in safety training programs and follow safe work practices at all times

Responsibilities

  • Support the implementation of safety protocols and ensure compliance with all safety regulations
  • Coordinate the planned work schedule with manager and directs daily activities of maintenance personnel to ensure that equipment is repaired and maintained properly and in a timely manner.
  • Reviews with manager the status of the department’s performance including adherence to budget, equipment downtime, response time to calls, etc.
  • Diagnoses problems with existing maintenance equipment, trains and other maintenance personnel in diagnosing the problems with existing equipment/machinery.
  • Orders parts as necessary to maintain proper levels of parts inventory and/or efficient operation of production processes.
  • Directs maintenance personnel as required, including vacation approval process and paid days off and other job duties as specifically delegated in the absence of the manager.
  • Conduct routine Preventive Maintenance and inspection of manufacturing equipment to ensure optimal performance and prevent breakdowns
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot Mechanical, Electrical and Pneumatic issues with Extrusion Molding machinery
  • Ability to read electrical, mechanical and pneumatics schematics
  • Perform repairs and replacement of faulty components to keep machine operating efficiently
  • Assist in the installation and commissioning of new equipment
  • Must be able to document work requests, work orders, and machinery failures for machines and equipment using computer maintenance management system (CMMS)
  • Must be able to Utilize electrical measuring instruments to solve electrical issues
  • Possess the knowledge and understanding of Industrial electrical wiring and 3 phase systems up to 480 Volts
  • Possess the knowledge and understanding of process controls
  • Knowledgeable of A/C and D/C motors and controls
  • Understands PLC process controls
  • Maintains chiller system, maintains plant air supply system, maintain resin delivery system, record and maintain spare part usage
  • Knowledgeable in operating machine shop equipment: o Milling machines, Lathes, Welding o Surface Grinders o Drill press o Band saw
