About The Position

The Maintenance Lead is responsible for overseeing the maintenance operations within the facility. This role ensures that all machinery, equipment, and systems are maintained in optimal working condition to support production efficiency and compliance with safety standards.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of maintenance experience in a food manufacturing or meat processing environment; with at least 1–2 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as required.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs., stand for extended periods, and work in a cold or humid environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with c, PLCs, and automated machinery is a plus.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the maintenance team, providing guidance, training, and support.
  • Schedule and assign daily tasks to maintenance technicians, ensuring optimal resource allocation.
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
  • Plan and coordinate maintenance activities, including routine inspections, repairs, and installations.
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical issues in a timely manner.
  • Ensure that all repairs are performed to industry standards and equipment manufacturer specifications.
  • Oversee the maintenance and repair of all production equipment, including conveyors, packaging machines, and refrigeration units.
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of spare parts and tools, ensuring availability for timely repairs.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and company policies.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and audits, addressing any hazards or compliance issues promptly.
  • Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, including work orders, equipment logs, and inspection reports.
  • Prepare and present maintenance reports to management, highlighting key metrics and areas for improvement.
  • Work with external vendors and contractors for specialized maintenance services and equipment procurement.
  • Evaluate and manage contractor performance, ensuring quality and timely completion of work.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance maintenance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Implement best practices and innovative solutions to optimize maintenance operations
  • Lead the response to maintenance emergencies, ensuring swift resolution to minimize production downtime.
  • Be available for on-call support and coordinate emergency maintenance tasks as needed.
  • Back up for supervisor as needed.
  • Work on special projects as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
