The Facilities Lead Technician is the heartbeat of our attraction’s behind-the-scenes magic, keeping everything running smoothly, safely, and efficiently! 🎢 From repairing lighting systems to touching up paint and tackling plumbing issues, this role is perfect for someone who thrives on variety and takes pride in solving problems hands-on. No two days are the same; you might be fixing a leaky pipe in the morning, repairing a guest area in the afternoon, or conducting safety checks to ensure our attractions remain in top shape. With two very different buildings to maintain, one focused on aquatic life and the other on an interactive, high-energy guest experience, every day brings new challenges and plenty of opportunities to show off your skills. ✨

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical or trade certification preferred.
  • Over one year of experience directly managing or leading a small maintenance team.
  • Relevant hands-on experience with repairs and upkeep in buildings such as apartment complexes, schools, gyms, or attractions.
  • Strong knowledge of maintenance areas including painting, woodwork, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and general handyman repairs.
  • Experience creating schedules, setting weekly maintenance goals, and coordinating multiple sites or teams.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and flexible, with the ability to work independently and guide a team under high-pressure conditions.
  • Positive, can-do attitude with a passion for safe, efficient, and high-quality facility maintenance.

Nice To Haves

  • OSHA and scissor lift certifications preferred but not essential.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the safety of all team members and guests.
  • Lead and coach a small team of Facilities Technicians, supporting their development through training, guidance, and example-based leadership.
  • Monitor compliance with operating procedures, guest service standards, and safety guidelines.
  • Oversee opening, operating, and closing procedures for the attraction.
  • Maintain, repair, and troubleshoot equipment and machinery, including HVAC, electrical, electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic, and plumbing systems, as well as rides and themed attractions.
  • Utilize hands-on expertise to solve problems quickly, minimizing downtime and maximizing the guest experience.
  • Perform custodial duties, re-lamping and lighting repairs, painting and wall repair, and equipment setup or take-down.
  • Support shipping, receiving, and installation of exhibits and technical equipment as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to maintain smooth operations.
