The Controls-Electrical Maintenance Lead is responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of the facility, including its systems, grounds, and all associated equipment. This individual will oversee all activities related to controls and electrical maintenance, providing tactical daily oversight, technical support, and leadership as needed. Additionally, this role involves continuous monitoring of critical systems, as well as performing routine maintenance and repairs on boilers, utility systems, environmental monitoring systems, cold rooms, freezers, and HVAC systems. The Controls-Electrical Maintenance Lead plays a key role in minimizing production downtime and ensuring the reliability and optimal performance of all facility systems and production equipment. The Staff Member will be informed and aware of their role in monitoring activities for meeting the regulatory requirements for food safety and are informed of their responsibility to report food safety problems to personnel with authority to initiate action.

  • Provide electrical and controls troubleshooting support for the bakery, responding to emergency calls and implementing corrective actions.
  • Mentor and assist team members in electrical and controls-related tasks, ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards.
  • Monitor production lines, diagnosing issues with conveyors, lifts, switches, sensors, motors, and related equipment, while coordinating with necessary personnel.
  • Support mechanical team members on non-electrical tasks when needed.
  • Collaborate with project teams and external control specialists to address technical challenges and system improvements.
  • Install, configure, and maintain electrical components such as disconnects, motors, variable frequency drives (VFDs), human-machine interfaces (HMIs), and programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
  • Conduct preventive maintenance (PM) to detect and address potential failures proactively.
  • Recommend and implement corrective actions to minimize recurring issues and enhance system reliability.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics to facilitate troubleshooting and system optimization.
  • Identify and request necessary parts for repairs, ensuring adequate inventory levels.
  • Utilize original equipment manufacturer (OEM) manuals for troubleshooting and maintenance procedures.
  • Adhere to electrical safety protocols, including lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures and personal protective equipment (PPE) usage.
  • A minimum of 10 years of combined experience in equipment and utility repairs, maintenance repair, preventative maintenance, and electrical repairs.
  • Minimum 1 year of leadership experience is required.
  • Knowledge and experience with any Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Strong electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Word, Outlook, Explorer, Chrome, and Teams/Zoom for effective communication within the organization.
  • Industrial maintenance, electrical and/or electronic training/experience.
  • Experience with both electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Previously NFPA70E trained.
  • Journeyman certification.
