About The Position

Electric Machinery Company, a division of WEG Electric Corp. Minneapolis, MN Maintenance Laborer - 1st shift Primary Objective of Position: The Maintenance Labor role is responsible for general cleaning of the shop area, including break rooms, restrooms, manufacturing floor aisles and parking lot. Skills Matrix: The Maintenance Labor position is part of the Maintenance Team skills Matrix. This position works as a team member utilizing and performing to the Maintenance Team skills matrix, which outlines the comprehensive skills in the Maintenance Team. Major Areas of Accountability: Cleans shop break rooms and restrooms. Empty trash, wash windows, power sweep, power scrub and wash floors, clean countertops/surfaces, plumbing fixtures. Refill paper products and maintain supplies. Empty manufacturing floor trash into larger dumpster, and when necessary the larger dumpster into the compactor. Clean trash containers and dumpsters when needed using the high pressure washer in the wash booth. Bale cardboard in compactor when needed. Works in other areas of the Maintenance Team skills matrix, may perform basic Maintenance duties and support Electrical Mechanical Technicians. Demonstrates a commitment to Continuous Improvement by identifying opportunities in day to day work. Performs to ISO 9001 Quality Standards and abides to OSHA and EPA regulations.

Requirements

High School degree (preferred) with a 1 year of maintenance experience (preferred).
Ability to be certified in overhead crane, Jib crane and forklift operation.
Routinely lifts and moves objects up to 20 lbs.
Occasionally lifts and moves objects up to 50 lbs.
Routinely ascends/descends ladders and stairs.
Occasionally works at heights or on platforms.
Routinely positions self in various works spaces, including low, tight or confined spaces.
Routinely remains in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods of time.
Routinely uses repetitive motions including the wrists, hands or fingers to operate machinery or tools.
Routinely moves from one work station to another to accomplish tasks.
