Maintenance/Janitor
About The Position
Cleaning & Sanitation: Sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors; cleaning and disinfecting restrooms, kitchens, and common areas. Maintenance & Repairs: Changing light bulbs, fixing minor plumbing issues (e.g., clogged toilets), and performing minor repairs to walls or furniture. Facility Upkeep: Dusting, polishing, washing windows, and emptying trash/recycling bins. Safety & Compliance: Following safety procedures (e.g., handling cleaning chemicals), using PPE, and reporting maintenance issues to management. Inventory Control: Monitoring and restocking supplies (soap, paper towels) and maintaining a clean supply closet. Exterior Maintenance: Removing trash from grounds, sweeping entrances, and assisting with snow removal if required.
Requirements
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, and lift heavy objects for extended periods.
- Attention to Detail: Ensuring all areas meet high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
- Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with cleaning chemicals, power tools, and basic maintenance procedures.
- Communication: Ability to report maintenance needs and interact professionally with staff or visitors.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent is often required
