About The Position

Purpose The purpose of the Maintenance Inventory Controller is to ensure the effective control, accuracy, and availability of maintenance inventory required to support continuous manufacturing operations. This position is responsible for maintaining orderly storeroom operations, monitoring stock levels, processing and tracking parts usage, assisting with purchasing and replenishment, and partnering with maintenance and operations teams to reduce downtime, improve cost control, and support a safe and compliant workplace. Areas of Responsibility / Tasks Performance must reflect appropriate level of expertise and achievement of the desired results for the items listed below: The Maintenance Inventory Controller ensures maintenance inventory is accurately tracked, organized, and available to support manufacturing operations. This role monitors stock levels, maintains records, orders parts and supplies, and coordinates with maintenance, operations, purchasing, and vendors to reduce downtime and support safe, efficient, and cost-effective operations.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate).
  • 1-2 years of relevant work experience in similar title and scope of responsibility preferred.
  • 1-2 years of experience in an industrial and/or manufacturing environment with a track record of improvements.
  • 1-2 years of experience operating forklifts and man-lifts.
  • Basic computer skills, familiarity with email platforms, and the ability to compose, send, and manage messages effectively.
  • Proficiency in English required

Nice To Haves

  • Some vocational or community college with related coursework or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Bi-Lingual – Spanish is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Support and follow all employee health and safety policies and procedures to help maintain a safe work environment for the maintenance team.
  • Maintain accurate parts inventory records within the CMMS.
  • Use and maintain working knowledge of the CMMS to ensure all parts ordering, receiving, and inventory transactions are properly completed in the system.
  • Perform weekly cycle counts and assist with periodic physical inventory audits, as scheduled or requested.
  • Maintain and communicate clear parts requisition and receiving processes to the maintenance team.
  • Coordinate with the MRO Buyer to order and receive materials needed to support maintenance activities.
  • Ensure the accuracy of parts received, stocked, and issued.
  • Follow established procedures for stocking, issuing, receiving, counting, auditing, and disposing of spare parts.
  • Assist in locating and ordering critical out-of-stock or obsolete parts.
  • Support maintenance outages, long-term maintenance planning, and parts kitting activities.
  • Contribute to spare parts cost savings and inventory control initiatives.
  • Communicate effectively with employees, vendors, and internal departments regarding inventory, sourcing, and procurement needs.
  • Maintain proficiency in applicable software, including CMMS, Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and internet-based research tools.
  • Support a flexible work schedule, including overtime, shift changes, and emergency call-in, as needed.
