About The Position

The Chobani Maintenance Work Experience Program affords students a remarkable experience to participate in fast-paced real-world projects designed to further develop strategic project management, analytical problem solving, and managerial leadership skills. Mentors will be designated to guide student collaborations and project work in each area. Students will be exposed to a variety of functional areas of the business and will be responsible for the timely repair and preventative maintenance of plant equipment.

Requirements

  • In process of completing an Industrial Maintenance vocational or technical schooling program.
  • Flexible schedule available, however, must be willing to work at minimum 30 hours / week.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and listening skills.
  • Mechanical proficiency, problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work with vendors, contractors, and company employees.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to climb ladders preferred.
  • Capable of interacting and effectively communicating with all levels of the organization, with the ability to thrive in a team environment.
  • Maintenance of the confidentiality of any personal or company information encountered.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Students will be exposed to a variety of functional areas of the business and have the chance to connect with leaders in the organization for learning and development opportunities.
  • Identify and implement safety and continuous improvements, equipment calibrations and reliability opportunities.
  • Ensure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements on motors, motor control devices, pumps, conveyor systems, instrumentation, and all production equipment, following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications.
  • Locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and mechanical and electrical testing instruments.
  • Conduct other duties as assigned by Lead, Supervisors and Managers.
