About The Position

This posting is for a Maintenance Intern position at our Fayetteville, AR Complex. This Internship will last for up to one year with the goal of transitioning into a full-time position with the team. This is a paid position which pays $22.50 per hour . This is a part-time position, and the schedule can be adjusted around your educational schedule. This position is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. This is on-the-job training for a career in industrial maintenance in the food production industry.

Requirements

  • All applicants must be graduated or enrolled in an Industrial Maintenance program. DTSoI or Northwest Arkansas Technical Institution students are preferred. Experience and education must be listed on the application or on an attached resume. Please document specific areas of study as related to maintenance education.
  • All applicants must be 18 years old with a valid identification at the time of application
  • All applicants must provide their government identification number so the system can verify any previous Tyson employment history.
  • This facility accepts rehires after one year (180 days) from last day worked but does not accept candidates who have worked for Tyson three (3) or more times. Tyson reserves the right to require longer waiting periods or not accept rehires based on the reason for dismissal.
  • Must be willing to learn Tyson SAP software to make work orders and fill out the daily documentation that is required in the system.
  • Must have good verbal and written communication skills and able to communicate with other Team Members, producers, USDA personnel and drivers.
  • Must be able to use math as needed to make work related computations for machinery, fluid capacities, etc.
  • Must be willing to lift 70 lbs. periodically throughout the shift daily and be willing to work on your feet for a period of up to 12 hours.
  • Must be willing to complete all required training for the job.

  • Maintain and promote the Tyson Safety culture.
  • Receive Training and experience in Maintenance to start your career.
  • Perform various duties as required/assigned.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs.
  • Keeping machinery running to maintain continuous production.
  • Set up, adjust, and break down production line machinery.
  • Learn Tyson SAP software to make work orders and fill out the daily documentation that is required in the system.
  • Communicate with other Team Members, producers, USDA personnel and drivers.
  • Make work related computations for machinery, fluid capacities, etc.
  • Complete all required training for the job.
  • Practice safety standards, policies, and procedures.
