About The Position

This posting is for a Maintenance Intern position on the Clarksville Complex. This Internship will last for one year. This is a paid position which pays $19.35 per hour and will be scheduled for 28 hours a week. This position is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. General Maintenance positions are responsible for keeping machinery running to maintain continuous production. Interns will learn through first-hand experience about industrial maintenance in a fast-paced, high demand environment, receiving instruction and working on equipment.

Requirements

  • All applicants must be graduated or enrolled in an Industrial Maintenance program
  • Experience and education must be listed on the application or on an attached resume
  • Document specific areas of study as related to maintenance education
  • All applicants must provide their government identification number so the system can verify any previous Tyson employment history
  • Must have good verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to communicate with other Team Members, producers, USDA personnel and drivers
  • Able to use math as needed to make work related computations for machinery, fluid capacities, etc.
  • Willing to lift 70 lbs. periodically throughout the shift on a daily basis
  • Willing to work on your feet for a period of 12 hours
  • Willing to complete all required training for the job

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and promote the Tyson Safety culture
  • Receive Training and experience in Maintenance to start your career
  • Perform various duties as required/assigned
  • Perform preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs
  • Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair all equipment and company assets
  • Maintain a safe work environment and adhere to Tyson policies and procedures
  • Keep machinery running to maintain continuous production
  • Set up, adjust and break down production line machinery
  • Learn Tyson SAP software to make work orders and fill out the daily documentation that is required in the system
  • Communicate with other Team Members, producers, USDA personnel and drivers
  • Use math as needed to make work related computations for machinery, fluid capacities, etc.
  • Complete all required training for the job
  • Practice safety standards, policies, and procedures
