Job Summary This individual will be able to apply hands on technical application in maintenance related fields. Responsibilities will be working hands on with maintenance craftsmen to utilize their technical training in an industrial application. Projects include but not limited to machine rebuilding, troubleshooting techniques, preventive maintenance, print reading, and equipment installation. Application of safety and maintenance procedures will be required. PRIMARY RESPONSIBLITIES FOR THE MAINTENANCE INTERN The Maintenance intern will provide support for maintenance, engineering, and production. Support includes troubleshooting, startup, commissioning, and maintenance of the plant assets, focusing on safe, reliable, and cost-effective production in a lean manufacturing environment. The intern program provides On-the-Job Training (OJT) Plan working with designated team members. Safely performs assigned tasks competently and efficiently. Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations. The selected candidate will be onboarded as a maintenance trainee intern and will work with our current maintenance team and supervisors in an industrial maintenance discipline. Will learn how to locate sources of problems by observing mechanical and/or electrical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments, drawings, and diagrams. Will learn to remove/replace defective parts by disassembling machinery, using hoists, cranes, and hand/power tools. Will assist in controlling downtime by preforming routine preventative maintenance requirements, daily equipment inspections, and monitoring machine operational performance. Perform duties as needed in support of the plant.
