About The Position

Perform timely equipment repairs to maintain production schedules and assist production personnel with assigned equipment maintenance activities. Perform assigned predictive/preventive maintenance checks on plant equipment. All duties performed with a positive and respectful professional attitude.

Requirements

  • Any combination equivalent to: AS Degree in Electronics or related field and five years of increasingly responsible instrumentation and plant maintenance experience.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English (speak, read and write)
  • May be required to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty.

Responsibilities

  • Tests and repairs instrumentation systems utilized by production equipment to ensure adherence to established performance levels and product quality.
  • Perform installation, calibration, and repair of all pneumatic/mechanical process control valves.
  • Perform installation, calibration and repair of plant instrumentation: i.e. pH indicators, temperature indicators, 02 indicators, air flow indicators, and acid/caustic totalizers.
  • Troubleshoot and repair pumps, motors, valves, gearboxes, air compressors, and plumbing equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair basic 440/220/11OV 3 phase and single-phase electrical circuits.
  • Repair and service plant utilities: i.e. boilers, air compressors, air dryers, distillers, vacuum pumps, cooling towers and air conditioners.
  • Replace equipment bearings, belts, gears, chains, and filters.
  • Perform predictive analysis of plant equipment using advanced measurement techniques.
  • Perform installation, programming and repair of PLC units on plant equipment.
  • Ability to submit complete and accurate material requisition forms for all items to be purchased.
  • Ability to submit all departmental paperwork both accurately and timely.
  • Ability to maintain a positive and cooperative attitude in all situations.
  • Ability to work from blueprints, engineering drawings, and electrical schematics.
  • Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
  • Knowledge of methods, tools and materials used in the repair and maintenance of all assigned tasks.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations as applicable to assigned job tasks.
  • Knowledge of proper methods of storing equipment, materials and supplies.
  • Knowledge of operation and use of hand and power tools and equipment.
  • Actively participate and support site ISO program initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Provide OJT (On the Job Training) as directed.
