What You'll Do: As a Maintenance Instrument Technician , you'll be at the forefront of our innovation by providing first-line support to the Production Department for maintenance. Having the understanding of power supply and pneumatic instruments; including meters, monitors, transmitters, flowmeters, level devices, switches, alarms, PLC’s, transducers, regulators, control valves, automatic valves, actuators, and solenoid valves; Also includes calibration, testing, troubleshooting, and repairs of all instrumentation and related equipment, including ISO (International Organization Standardization) equipment, which necessitates the ability to properly calibrate and document the ISO items .

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent from an accredited school.
  • 5+ years of experience within the chemical manfacturing industry.
  • Experience with calibration, testing, troubleshooting, and repairs of all instrumentation and related equipment, including ISO (International Organization Standardization) equipment.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate of Applied Science in Instrumentation Technology is considered a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Follow all Lubrizol procedures, including safety procedures, JSA’s, Work Permits, and MOC’s.
  • Complete all paperwork in a timely manner; includes timesheets, shop papers, calibration records, drawing red-marks and especially ISO forms.
  • Some computer records must be completed, including entering completion codes in the SAP maintenance system, buying parts out of Stores, and completing computer-based training.
  • Perform Preventative Maintenance (PM’s) on all instrumentation devices.
  • Perform calibration, testing, making any necessary adjustments, and documenting the results.
  • Perform loop checking to verify that all the connected components are working properly or to determine if repairs are needed, and then to red mark any modifications on associated drawings.
  • Troubleshoot any instrumentation that is not working properly, to determine any discrepancies between proper operation and observed operation, and to isolate any suspect device from the control loop, and to perform corrective action as necessary to resolve any problems.
  • Studies plans, drawings, specifications, and work orders to determine work requirement and sequence of repairs and/or installations.
  • Carries out a variety of repairs for instruments/components brought to the workshop for maintenance, such as repairing electronic cards, regulators and transmitters.
