About The Position

Zipline is on a mission to transform the way goods move, aiming to solve the world's most urgent access challenges through an instant delivery and logistics system. The Maintenance Instructor role is dynamic and varied, focusing on helping others succeed by interpreting and demonstrating technical information. This position involves collaborating with engineers, creating training content, and leading classes to ensure the safety and reliability of Zipline's operations. The instructors support training programs across the U.S. to maintain regulatory compliance and technician readiness.

Requirements

  • FAA Mechanic Certificate with A&P ratings (or ability to obtain a Zipline FAA Repairman Certificate).
  • 1+ years of technical instructor experience (aviation maintenance training preferred).
  • Experience creating training content and familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS).
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to balance multiple priorities.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal & written) with the ability to adjust to your audience.
  • Approachability, creativity, and passion for teaching.
  • Resilience, resourcefulness, and adaptability in dynamic, evolving regulatory environments.
  • Genuine interest in continuous learning.
  • Alignment with Zipline's mission.

Responsibilities

  • Develop training content for a wide range of maintenance topics using multiple media formats.
  • Deliver engaging instruction in both live classroom settings (in-person & virtual) and OJT environments.
  • Drive continuous improvement, including updating and enhancing existing courses.
  • Write Maintenance Bulletins to quickly communicate critical updates.
  • Raise improvements or concerns through internal systems.
  • Coordinate training logistics, including scheduling courses and communicating details to stakeholders.
  • Manage documentation & compliance, including required forms, records, and LMS data entry.
  • Mentor future OJT instructors, developing identified technicians into trainers.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally on key initiatives, such as assisting technicians with FAA Repairman Certificate applications.
