This position will successfully perform all tasks of the Maintenance 3E (Electrical) or 3M (Mechanical) position as defined by the Job Tasks Analysis (JTA) and support the achievement of the site's business goals and objectives. This position will participate in cross training to prepare for advancement to the Maintenance 4 classification.

  • Relies on experience, training and judgment to demonstrate ALL tasks requirements for Maintenance 3 E or 3M as defined by the AMI Job Task Analysis (JTA).
  • Organizes all company-provided tools and return to proper work space.
  • Performs emergency/unscheduled and basic preventative maintenance repairs of production equipment as qualified.
  • Reads and interprets equipment manuals, blueprints, and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
  • Diagnoses problems, replace or repair parts, tests, and makes adjustments on plant equipment.
  • Detects faulty operations and defective equipment; reports those and any unusual situations to management.
  • Maintains clean and orderly work areas.
  • Records all spare parts used on the work order to ensure proper re-order.
  • Follows and adheres to all QMS procedures and documentation as applicable to position/department, and as required by ISO.
  • Complies with all federal or state laws and regulations and company policy and procedures.
  • Conducts workplace inspections for all daily work areas; immediately resolves and/or reports hazardous conditions; properly secures all guarding immediately following repairs.
  • Trains/coaches persons in the Maintenance 1 or Maintenance 2 classifications as well as 3E or 3M as appropriate.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Minimum of four years of maintenance experience preferred.
  • Requires a high school diploma/GED and completion of a craft apprenticeship, or an equivalent number of years of education and production maintenance experience; AA degree in mechanical, electrical or industrial maintenance is a plus.
  • Strong working knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, electrical, Variable Frequency Drives, and industrial skills required with basic PLC.
  • Proficiency with computers and computer applications, including Computerized Management Maintenance Systems (CMMS).
  • Must be organized and detail-oriented.
  • Must be highly motivated and able to work independently.
  • Must be able to complete projects and assignments from inception to completion.
  • Valid driver's license required; valid forklift license/AMI forklift training and score 85% or better on the Kenexa FLO test.
  • Must be able to work night shift.
  • AA degree in mechanical, electrical or industrial maintenance.
