About The Position

The Maintenance III position is responsible for troubleshooting and repairing various control components, including PLC and VFD systems. The role involves using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to document work and manage parts inventory. The technician will diagnose and repair production equipment using mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, and hydraulic blueprints, and will also perform general facility maintenance. Additional responsibilities include assisting in the installation and setup of production machinery, repairing HVAC and plumbing systems, and conducting preventative maintenance and process improvement projects. Safety and adherence to housekeeping guidelines are critical aspects of this role.

Requirements

  • 2 years of trade school or a minimum of five years direct manufacturing experience.
  • Ability to use precision measuring devices such as micrometers and calipers.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and complete work orders legibly.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and interpret various instructions.
  • OSHA approved forklift certification.
  • Scissor/Platform Lift Training/certification.
  • CPR/First-Aid Training.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Bloodborne Pathogen Training.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoots PLC, VFD, and other control components.
  • Uses the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to document work and manage parts.
  • Researches replacement parts and accesses manuals using a computer or tablet.
  • Diagnoses and repairs production equipment using various blueprints.
  • Performs general facility and property maintenance.
  • Assists in installation, assembly, and setup of production machinery.
  • Repairs facility equipment such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and material handling equipment.
  • Conducts preventative maintenance and process improvement projects.
  • Communicates equipment status through emails and meetings.
  • Utilizes basic fabrication skills including welding and machining.
  • Follows safety and housekeeping guidelines.
