POSITION SUMMARY: Under general supervision or guidance, maintain, repair or install equipment and facilities, including mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic machinery.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • At least two (2) years general maintenance experience or experience in a related area.
  • Forklift and crane experience required. Must obtain and maintain forklift and crane certifications
  • Accurately follow verbal directions and written procedures in English.
  • Read basic blueprints and equipment manuals.
  • Understand basic shop mathematics.
  • General working knowledge of basic processes of mechanics, hydraulics, and electrical theory.
  • Experience with general building repair and maintenance, including basic electrical service.
  • Experience repairing and general maintenance of production equipment.
  • Proficient in the use of hand and power tools.
  • Basic computer knowledge.
  • Willingness to learn.
  • Prolonged standing or walking.
  • Frequent bending, pulling, pushing, reaching, stooping, climbing of ladders or stairs, and carrying tools and materials.
  • Lift up to 50 pounds frequently, over 50 pounds with assistance. Utilize the principles of team lifting.
  • Work in extreme heat and cold.
  • By contractual requirements this position requires that all persons establish proof of US Citizenship. Dual Citizenship (US citizenship and citizenship of some other country) cannot be accepted. You will be required to provide original or certified copies of documents establishing your citizenship prior to consideration for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose basic problems of inoperative equipment or faulty conditions.
  • Repair or recommend repair of equipment with faulty properties.
  • Assist in the assembly and installation of new equipment.
  • Perform preventative maintenance as required.
  • Adhere to safety policies and procedures at all times. Exercise stop work authority if needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
