About The Position

Responsible for the upkeep of facility grounds, light maintenance repair, and cleaning tasks completed in a safe, professional manner. Must take extra precautions when working in patient care areas and specifically keep tools out of the reach of children. Must possess basic mechanical knowledge and show competence in the use of hand tools, meters, measuring devices and gauges. Ability to work from blueprints, schematics and technical manuals helpful. Must be able to explain conditions and situations accurately while troubleshooting, and function with safety, moral end efficiency of the department in mind. Ability to work all shifts and hours as scheduled. Must comply with all corporate and facility policies and dress code. Must understand written and verbal communications. Good written and oral communications skills required. Works independently with minimal supervision. Must have knowledge of federal, state, and local codes, specifications, and ordinances. Depending on facility size, additional duties may include but are not limited to: perform installation and maintenance of mechanical and stationary systems, including boiler operations, to ensure a safe and efficient environment; maintain campus grounds and perform other outside maintenance duties; perform general duties such as electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, HVAC, and bed repair and maintenance. Additional routine maintenance such as cleaning ice makers and keeping underground fuel oil tank logs, vacuuming and keeping air logs. Orders and installs exterior and interior signage. Will have elevated responsibility in relation to work orders and specifications such as performing necessary preventative maintenance and closing out work orders, as well as researching manufacturers' recommendations. Maintains facility grounds with an inviting, presentable appearance, with attention to safety such as snow and ice removal from sidewalks and parking lots. Other duties include operation and maintenance of vehicles, skid steers, mowing/trimming/lawn care equipment, upkeep and repair of lawn irrigation system and landscaping features. May require on-call duties as needed or as directed by the department.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or GED equivalent is preferred.
  • Must be able to operate and maintain skid steers, mowers, blowers, and other lawn care equipment.
  • Knowledge of common power and hand tools.
  • Experience in building and equipment maintenance.
  • Ability to work all shifts and hours as scheduled.
  • Ability to comply with all corporate and facility policies and dress code.
  • Ability to understand written and verbal communications.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Must have a valid Minnesota driver’s license and must be insurable.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for outdoor maintenance to include mowing, snow removal, landscape, irrigation and equipment upkeep.
  • General preventative maintenance and repairs through the facility.
  • Perform routine maintenance, such as ice maker cleaning, fluid level checks, filter changes plus office setups and moves.
  • Perform installation and maintenance of mechanical and stationary systems, including boiler operations, to ensure a safe and efficient environment
  • Maintain campus grounds and perform other outside maintenance duties
