About The Position

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : include the following. Other duties may be assigned: Maintaining all aspects of the building (interior and exterior) by performing any necessary minor repairs. Minor repairs can include, but are not limited to certain aspects of : Plumbing, Electrical, Painting, Wall repair, Carpentry, Masonry, Basic construction and repair, Basic appliance repair. Knowledge of fire codes / safety Move furniture when necessary Install, build, assemble Program equipment Shovel sidewalks of ice/snow Attend in-service trainings Report any safety/maintenance hazards to your supervisor and repairing what can be repaired Respond to work orders in a timely basis and provide exceptional customer service Be available to drive for any given program, in case of emergency, when available Attend scheduled meetings with the Facilities Supervisor and/or Manager Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions Light plumbing, change faucets, pull and reinstall rear mount toilets, snake drains with a power snake Interact appropriately and follow all regulatory items concerning the individuals we serve Mandatory attendance at required in-service training, along with ability to absorb and demonstrate compliance with all regulations and Block Institute policy and procedure requirements is required for this position Troubleshooting and making routine repairs in the following areas: Painting Minor Electrical Minor Plumbing

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1 Year Experience Preferred
  • A valid NYS Drivers’ License is a plus
  • Proficiency in English is required to perform essential job functions, including preparing written reports, understanding safety instructions, and communicating with clients or team members.
