About The Position

The Maintenance Helper is responsible for performing timely repairs to equipment and the facility to ensure smooth production operations. This role involves assisting with electrical installations, mechanical repairs, and general maintenance tasks within the plant. The position requires adherence to safety practices and company policies while working independently and efficiently.

Requirements

• Basic carpentry skills and experience in building repair and painting.
• Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
• Familiarity with all plant equipment and maintenance procedures.
• Knowledge of the National Electrical Code.
• Experience with pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
• Good communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform timely repairs to equipment to ensure production runs smoothly.
• Assist with electrical installations and mechanical repairs within the plant.
• Conduct basic carpentry, building repairs, and painting as needed.
• Maintain groundskeeping duties, including using outdoor power equipment.
• Log materials and parts used on the job into the inventory usage logbook.
• Follow company and government policies and procedures related to GMPs, food safety, and plant security.
• Adhere to safety practices, including wearing protective equipment and clothing.
• Read and follow schematics and design basic electrical control circuits.
• Troubleshoot and program Hayssen packaging equipment down to component levels.
• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
