About The Position

The Williamsport Home is seeking candidates interested in a part-time maintenance position. This position works 3 days per week, weekend days as assigned. Maintains buildings and grounds under the supervision of the Director of Maintenance. REPORTS TO: Director of Maintenance

Requirements

• High school graduate or GED equivalency preferred.
• Experience in a health-related facility preferred.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
• Must demonstrate strong verbal and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors and government agencies/personnel and the general public.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and verifiable safe driving record.
• Must successfully complete the required criminal background check.
• Frequent hand, arm and finger use; standing, walking, bending, twisting (forward, downward, lateral and low), reaching and carrying, lifting, pulling and pushing various weights.
• Occasional climbing, stepping downward and crawling.
• Must be able to move throughout the building and grounds as needed throughout the day; must be able to lift up to 30 lbs.
• Good visual and hearing acuity required; good verbal communication skills required.
• Frequent wet floors
• Hard surface floors
• Occasional dust, fumes and noise
• Periodic hot, cold or cramped working conditions
• Body fluid exposure – universal precautions
• Required to work outdoors in extreme weather conditions.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in a health-related facility preferred.
• High school graduate or GED equivalency preferred.

Responsibilities

• Complete work as assigned.
• Perform daily routine maintenance tasks.
• Helps with room moves, furniture moves and special functions.
• Available to respond to emergency and non-routine maintenance situations.
• Must be capable of shoveling snow, use snow blower, spread anti-ice material as directed.
• Must be responsible to maintain a safe working environment in all buildings.
• Performs all other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Maintenance.
• Help with outside ground work—mulching, cutting grass, raking leaves, general spring clean up/lawn care.
