About The Position

The Maintenance Helper is responsible for supporting the Maintenance Department by performing routine cleaning and organizational tasks throughout all company shops, work areas, and exterior grounds. This role ensures that facilities remain clean, safe, and free of debris to help maintain efficient operations and ensure that company standards and goals are met. The Maintenance Helper works closely with the Maintenance Supervisor/Facilities Manager and follows established procedures and schedules.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (or actively working toward completion).
  • Ability to follow directions and work under direct supervision.
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to maintain high cleanliness standards.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move items up to 30 lbs as required.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Dependable, punctual, and willing to learn.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous custodial, maintenance, or labor experience (not required).
  • Basic understanding of safety practices and proper use of cleaning tools/equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Clean all shop areas, including floors, equipment surfaces, workstations, and common areas.
  • Collect, remove, and properly dispose of trash and debris from interior and exterior areas.
  • Maintain organization of exterior spaces, keeping walkways, parking areas, and grounds clean and free of hazards.
  • Sweep, mop, and perform light custodial tasks to ensure work areas remain safe and presentable.
  • Respond promptly to leaks, spills, and other immediate cleanliness or safety concerns, ensuring proper cleanup procedures are followed to prevent hazards.
  • Perform janitorial duties as needed to maintain sanitary and hazard‑free conditions throughout all facilities.
  • Assist maintenance team members with basic tasks as needed, including moving tools, organizing supplies, and supporting minor facility upkeep.
  • Restock cleaning supplies and notify supervisor when materials need to be reordered.
  • Follow all safety guidelines and report any unsafe conditions to the supervisor immediately.
  • Operate basic cleaning tools and equipment in a safe and responsible manner.
