About The Position

Applicants will be considered for shifts and hours posted. Must be available to work overtime and weekends if required. General Maintenance positions are responsible for keeping machinery running to maintain continuous production. You must be willing to set up, adjust, and break down production line machinery. Must be willing to learn Tyson SAP software to make work orders and fill out the daily documentation that is required in the system. Must be able to read and write where required. Must be able to use math as needed to make work-related computations for machinery, fluid capacities, etc. Must be willing and able to lift 70 lbs. with assistance on a daily basis and be able to work on your feet for 12 hours. Must be willing to complete all required training for the job. Must be able to communicate clearly with Upper Management and team members via phone, in person, and in writing regarding the status of equipment repairs. Internal candidates will be considered first. If there are no qualified internal candidates selected, we will look at external applicants. Must not have a Written Warning within the last 6 months of the bid date. Bidder cannot have over 6 points to be considered for this position. If you are hired into a maintenance position, you must stay below 10 points to maintain this role. If you are selected for this position and choose to decline, you will be ineligible to apply for another position for six months. Similarly, if you accept the position, you will not be eligible for lateral moves or positions with lower pay for six months; only promotions will be considered. Team members interested in transferring into this position from another Tyson facility should express interest through their local HR Partner. This position is slated for team members who are currently working at this facility or complex only. The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 1-year related maintenance experience (listed in the application) and/or technical certifications and working knowledge of electricity, power transmissions, plumbing, hydraulics, pneumatics, welding, cutting, and the use of shop tools.
  • Must be able to read and write where required.
  • Must be willing and able to lift 70 lbs. with assistance on a daily basis and be able to work on your feet for 12 hours.
  • Must not have a Written Warning within the last 6 months of the bid date.
