About The Position

This position is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. General Maintenance positions are responsible for keeping machinery running to maintain continuous production. Must be willing to set up, adjust and break down production line machinery. Must be willing to learn Tyson SAP software to make work orders and fill out the daily documentation that is required in the system. Must have good verbal and written communication skills and able to communicate with other Team Members, producers, USDA personnel and drivers. Must be able to use math as needed to make work related computations for machinery, fluid capacities, etc. Must be willing to lift 70 lbs. periodically throughout the shift on a daily basis and be willing to work on your feet for a period of 12 hours. Must be willing to complete all required training for the job. Must be able to read invoices, packing slips, records of materials, etc.   Must possess skills to complete Tyson paperwork.

Requirements

  • At least 6 months of maintenance experience.
  • Rehire criteria is a minimum waiting period of 180 days.
  • Rehire Rule of no more than 3 times worked at Tyson Foods.
  • Must have good verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be willing to lift 70 lbs. periodically throughout the shift on a daily basis and be willing to work on your feet for a period of 12 hours.

Responsibilities

  • To maintain and promote the Tyson safety culture
  • Receive training as required
  • Perform various positions as required/assigned
  • Assist maintenance supervisor with personnel and equipment
  • Assign maintenance techs to equipment during process periods
  • Assist with preventative maintenance and breakdowns
  • Train maintenance techs on equipment
  • Utilize computer-based PM program to track equipment maintenance
  • Fill in for absenteeism or assisting in other areas of plant
  • Keeping machinery running to maintain continuous production
  • Set up, adjust and break down production line machinery
  • Learn Tyson SAP software to make work orders and fill out the daily documentation that is required in the system
  • Communicate with other Team Members, producers, USDA personnel and drivers
  • Use math as needed to make work related computations for machinery, fluid capacities, etc.
  • Complete all required training for the job
  • Read invoices, packing slips, records of materials, etc.
  • Complete Tyson paperwork
