Management Level: Class 1 Maintenance Generalist 2nd Shift Description: This position is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Plant Maintenance positions require one year experience in industrial maintenance, or equivalent certification from a technical school.
  • Experience or certification should include knowledge in industrial hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical, electronics, plumbing and welding.
  • Strong electronic skill set is a must.
  • Must have a minimum of 1 year of mechanic work experience documented in the work history section of the application or be a graduate of an industrial maintenance training program. (Can be a combination of employers as experience is at least 1 year.)
  • Openings for this position will be filled by the most qualified, eligible bidder per Tyson’s Job Bidding Policy.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge in the operation of PLC’s is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • To Maintain and promote the Tyson Safety culture.
  • Receive Training as required.
  • Perform various duties as required/assigned.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs.
  • Train Maintenance techs on equipment.
  • Order parts as need and follow-up on parts order with outstanding PO's.
  • Fill in for absenteeism or assisting in other areas of plant.
  • General Maintenance positions are responsible for keeping machinery running to maintain continuous production.
  • Must be willing to set up, adjust and break down production line machinery.
  • Must be willing to learn Tyson SAP software to make work orders and fill out the daily documentation that is required in the system.
  • Must have good verbal and written communication skills and able to communicate with other Team Members, producers, USDA personnel and drivers.
  • Must be able to use math as needed to make work related computations for machinery, fluid capacities, etc.
  • Must be willing to lift 70 lbs. periodically throughout the shift on a daily basis and be willing to work on your feet for a period of 12 hours.
  • Must be willing to complete all required training for the job.
