About The Position

This position will be responsible for multiple tasks relating to trouble shooting, repair, fabrication, and preventive maintenance of all facility equipment. Troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. Provide troubleshooting and repair of any mechanical malfunction. Prepare written documentation of actions taken to correct equipment problems. Responds to mechanical or electrical breakdowns and handle emergency situations. Perform preventive maintenance according to schedule. Complete appropriate paperwork and reports Must comply with lockout/ tagout, confined space, and all other safety programs. Must be able to perform mechanical and basic electrical trouble shooting and repairs. Able to perform diagnosis and repairs without supervision. Capable of starting all equipment before production startup and shutdown without supervision Ability to assist with other mechanics as needed. Perform other duties as assigned. Basic computer skills with knowledge in Word and Excel Must be able to understand and agree to follow Safety Rules. Knowledge of Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures. Ability to adhere to Tyson Foods' safety policies and procedures. Work in temperature that will vary with outside ambient temperatures and humidity. It can be dusty, warm, cold and/or humid. The positions physical requirements will include standing, walking, bending, stretching, climbing, pushing, pulling, stooping, the ability to climb ladders, lifts, scaffolds, and working at heights to excess of 150 ft. as well lifting, pushing, or pulling up to 100 lbs. Proficiency in reading and writing; ability to complete on-the-job paperwork such as SAP, equipment tracking logs, and daily equipment check sheets. Able effectively communicate with all hourly team members and members of management in person and on the radio.

Requirements

  • Must have one year of industrial maintenance experience and at least 6 months of continuous work history with the same employer within the last 24 months or was attending technical school or training within the last 24 months to be considered.
  • High school Diploma or GED required.
  • Team members interested in transferring into this position from another Tyson facility should express interest through their local HR Partner.
  • Must be under 6 attendance points and have no written disciplinary actions in the last 6 months.
  • Current Employee Points: Must have no more than 6 points to be considered for this position at time of reviewing applications.
