About The Position

This position is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. This position could work in any department of the hatchery. Standing, walking, bending, stretching, twisting, climbing, pushing and pulling up to 300lb buggies, and reaching are required in all areas. Lifting is required in many areas (weight depends upon area). Working on elevated surfaces is required in some areas. This position works in a dusty, cold, damp or hot and humid environment and these areas have slippery walking surfaces. Must be able to communicate both orally and in writing. Must possess basic math and computer skills. Must enter data into handheld computer system. Must be able to use basic hand tools, operate power tools and all automated equipment, saws, sheet metal shears, drills, grinders and ladders as needed. Must be able to obtain powered industrial truck certification (PIT). Requirements

  • Applicant must reside in a 50-mile radius of the facility.
  • Hours of work are 4 am to 2 pm Monday - Tuesday - Thursday - Friday Days and hours may vary.
  • To be considered for a maintenance position, applicants must have at least 3-years industrial maintenance experience or the equivalent certifications from a technical school.
  • Must have the ability to fabricate by welding and cutting.
  • Must be able to read and write in order to follow Tyson preventive maintenance program.
  • Must have the ability to pass pulmonary function test to dispense chemicals and comply with OSHA guidelines.
  • Must not own, possess, or otherwise maintain any domestic, wild or exotic fowl to be considered.
  • Must be able to communicate both orally and in writing.
  • Must possess basic math and computer skills.
  • Must be able to use basic hand tools, operate power tools and all automated equipment, saws, sheet metal shears, drills, grinders and ladders as needed.
  • Must be able to obtain powered industrial truck certification (PIT).
