This position is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets, the building, and grounds while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. Other duties as assigned. If offered the position, the offer will be contingent on passing an MVR assessment. An MVR will be run on your driving history and must show a valid driver's license as well as no DWI/DUI conviction within the previous 12 months in order to proceed with the hiring process. If unable to meet these requirements the job offer will be rescinded.

Requirements

  • 1 Year industrial/mechanical maintenance experience listed on application or resume
  • Must have a valid state driver’s license and no DWI/DUI conviction within the previous 12 months.
  • Proficiency in reading and writing.
  • ability to complete on-the-job paperwork and effectively communicate across all management levels
  • The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Nice To Haves

  • Cold storage experience
  • warehousing experience
  • forklift experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) are a plus.
  • Computers are used a lot for this job so while computer proficiency isn’t a requirement, it is a plus.
  • Experience with SAP, Welding, Powered Tools, Forklifts and Powered Industrial Trucks, Diesel engines, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, hydraulics, pneumatics, compressed air tools, and mechanics are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Changing batteries using the battery changing machine
  • Maintaining and servicing Crown Forklifts
  • Cleaning and painting the building as part of general building maintenance
  • Preventative maintenance on all equipment using required PPE
  • Logging Preventative Maintenance (PMs) in SAP
  • Completing monthly trainings – This position requires reaching level 4 of training within the first 14 months.
  • Management and clean up with chemical and hazmat spills
  • Maintaining and servicing shag trucks
  • Answering service calls
  • Ordering parts as needed
  • Troubleshooting issues
  • Maintaining a clean and orderly work environment
  • Keep up with communication via Radio, Teams, and Email
  • Other duties as assigned
