About The Position

Maintenance Mechanics perform skilled work in the operation, predictive, and preventative maintenance and repair of the facility’s real property, power industrial trucks, and plant utility systems.

Requirements

  • Able to work effectively under time constraints.
  • Able to use measurement devices.
  • Able to perform electrical and mechanical predictive and preventative maintenance as tasked.
  • Must be able to work overtime and/or weekends as needed.
  • The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to meet the physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Must be willing and able to work a flexible schedule if needed in a cold, wet, humid environment with temperatures ranging from 35 to 50 degrees.
  • Must be willing and able to stand, sit, and use hands and fingers to handle or feel 67-100% of the time.
  • Must be willing and able to walk, talk, and hear 67-100% of the time.
  • Must be willing and able to bend, squat, and kneel 33-67% of the time.
  • Must be willing and able to taste or smell 0-33% of the time.
  • Must be willing and able to ascend and descend stairs 67-100% of the time.
  • Must be willing and able to lift and/or move up to 45 lbs. 67-100% of the time, 50 lbs. 33-67% of the time and 100 lbs. 0-33% of the time.
  • Must be willing and able to push/pull 300 lbs. 33-67% of the time.
  • Must have a minimum of 6 months of industrial maintenance or general maintenance work experience documented in the work history section, OR be a graduate of a maintenance training program, HVAC training program (Vocational or Trade schools) (will need to provide documentation of completion) or have a degree within a relative field (if graduated, no experience needed at time of hire)
  • Candidates who have previously worked for Tyson will have a minimum rehire waiting period of 180 days and are limited to 3 times of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Follows all company personnel safety, food safety, attendance, and GMP policies.
  • Proactive in the daily plant operations as well as setting up and/or breaking down.
  • Work to maximize plant efficiencies, reduce costs, and maintain product quality.
  • Completes daily log sheets, communicates effectively, and is proactive in recognizing and reporting unsafe conditions and/or other mechanical concerns.
  • Assist in maintaining a relevant and accurate mechanical inventory.
  • Accurately and consistently change out parts.
  • Lubrication, conveyor belt repairs, power train & bearing maintenance, motor and gearbox replacement, forklift & pallet jack maintenance.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical and electrical equipment promptly.
