About The Position

This position is responsible for, but not limited to: Troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. Provide troubleshooting and repair of any mechanical malfunction Prepare written documentation of actions taken to correct equipment problems Responds to mechanical or electrical breakdowns and handle emergency situations Perform preventive maintenance according to schedule Complete appropriate paperwork and reports Must comply with lockout/ tagout, confined space, and all other safety programs Must be able to perform mechanical and basic electrical trouble shooting and repairs Able to perform diagnosis and repairs without supervision Capable of starting all equipment before production startup and shutdown without supervision Ability to assist with other mechanics as needed Perform other duties as assigned Work in temperature that will vary with outside ambient temperatures and humidity. It can be dusty, warm, cold and/or humid. The positions physical requirements will include standing, walking, bending, stretching, climbing, pushing, pulling, stooping and the ability to climb ladders, lifts, and scaffolds. Lifting will also be required and depending on department could be up to 70lbs. Required to wear a safety toe boot that can withstand 75lbs. at all times.

Requirements

  • Experience: 2 years prior industrial maintenance experience, experience with Tyson maintenance department, or have education (I.E. possess industrial maintenance diploma or currently enrolled in technical school) in lieu of experience.
  • Computer Skills: Basic computer skills with knowledge in Word and Excel
  • Communication Skills: Good interpersonal and communication skills are critical
  • Safety: Must be able to understand and agree to follow Safety Rules.
  • Physical Requirements: The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous poultry processing experience preferred.
