About The Position

This position is responsible for assisting the Supervisor in coordination of the daily responsibilities of the department by ensuring the Supervisor’s instructions are communicated to the team members and carried out timely and correctly. This position is also responsible for the operation and maintenance of the refrigeration systems while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. Must be familiar with ammonia, plant ammonia systems, electrical refrigeration, and other industrial maintenance. Must be able to complete Tyson Level 1 Operators Training within one (1) year of being placed in the position. Must be capable to read, write, and use math skills in order to complete necessary paperwork. Must be able to work competently and efficiently with little or no supervision. Must follow all Hazmat grooming requirements and become Hazmat Certified. Must be a member of the Hazmat Team and pass required physical. Must be familiar with plant compressed air system and all water supply systems (Ex: Chill water, hot water, city water, and glycol systems). Must be able to work in harsh environments for short periods of time (Ex: Heat, cold, rain, snow, wind, water, mud, etc.). Position must also conduct preventative maintenance and conduct safety checks throughout their area. This position requires the team member to move to different areas of the plant and deal with different temperatures and environment in accordance to where they are needed.

Requirements

  • Must have at least 6 months experience within the current 12 months' timeframe.
  • Must be familiar with ammonia, plant ammonia systems, electrical refrigeration, and other industrial maintenance.
  • Must be able to complete Tyson Level 1 Operators Training within one (1) year of being placed in the position.
  • Must be capable to read, write, and use math skills in order to complete necessary paperwork.
  • Must be able to work competently and efficiently with little or no supervision.
  • Must follow all Hazmat grooming requirements and become Hazmat Certified.
  • Must be a member of the Hazmat Team and pass required physical.

  • Prior Employee Waiting Period : If you were previously employed at Tyson, there’s a 365-day waiting period before you can reapply.
  • Number of Times Worked at Tyson : You can apply if you’ve worked at Tyson no more than three times.
  • Failed Drug Screen - if you had a failed drug screen, you must wait 6 months before reapplying.
