A day in the life… As a Fabricator in the maintenance department , you will play a key role on our production team as a detail-oriented and experienced Fabricator. In this position, you will assemble metal parts and structures by cutting, welding, and shaping materials according to blueprints and job orders. Your strong mechanical skills and commitment to safety will be essential to your success.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to speak, read, and write English fluently, with or without an accommodation.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
  • Strong knowledge of metal fabrication processes and techniques.
  • Proficient with welding (MIG, TIG, or ARC) and cutting tools.
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and physical stamina.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Familiarity with safety standards and personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

Nice To Haves

  • 2–3 years of experience in fabrication or a related field.
  • Technical training in welding or machining.
  • Welding or fabrication certifications (e.g., from the American Welding Society - AWS).
  • Experience using Fusion 360 or similar CAD/CAM software for fabrication or mechanical design.

Responsibilities

  • Reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and work orders.
  • Cutting, shaping, and assembling metal parts using hand tools, welding equipment, and machinery.
  • Inspecting and measuring materials and finished products for quality and accuracy.
  • Maintaining a clean and safe work environment by following safety guidelines.
  • Repairing or replacing defective components as needed.
  • Collaborating with team members to meet production deadlines.
  • Operating machinery such as shears, brakes, and welders.
  • Maintaining tools and equipment in good working condition.
  • Adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) to ensure product quality and maintain compliance with food safety standards.
  • Completing and following FSQA training and programs to comply with regulatory requirements, ensuring consumer safety, and supporting the plant’s food safety and quality objectives.
  • Promptly reporting and taking appropriate action on any observed or potential food safety hazards, processing deviations, or non-conformities by notifying the designated plant supervisor, in accordance with your role and responsibilities.
  • Actively contributing to the continuous improvement of the company’s Food Safety Culture through engagement and actions aligned with your role.
