The Maintenance Engineering Intern will be responsible for supporting the maintenance and controls department by providing process, design, quality, and other improvement ideas. This position is responsible for working with others to improve systems that will minimize costs and create future, more efficient, processes. This individual is encouraged to develop daily goals/strategies and ensure all equipment is running effectively and efficiently. This individual must possess knowledge in mechanical design and mathematical concepts. This individual must also be able to work with power tools and computer equipment and possess the ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. The Mechanical Engineering Intern must possess advanced computer knowledge in MS Office, AutoCAD, and MS Project. Other duties assigned. Highlights of your role - Assist with maintenance troubleshooting, machine uptime, project development, and design work. - Assist with efficiency and cost reduction efforts, implementing mechanical and process improvements. - Assist with new product development, process flow development, and problem solve as needed. Work with vendors to quote and procure components and equipment. - Provide feedback to supervisors on process improvement statuses--and also-- track, measure, and report productivity reports.
