About The Position

Lafayette Regional Health Center is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to ensure high quality, efficient care for all patients. The role involves performing general and preventative maintenance tasks under the direction of the Plant Operations Supervisor. The hospital is a 25+ bed critical access facility known for compassionate and high-quality acute and outpatient medical care services in a small-town environment.

Requirements

• At least 5 years in building and/or equipment maintenance field.
• Minimum knowledge of common safety hazards, precautions, and practices to establish a safe working environment.
• Skill in troubleshooting equipment/systems and effecting appropriate repairs/modifications.
• Ability to demonstrate skills and ability in at least seven of the crafts/trades such as pipefitting, electrician, biomedical, refrigeration, pneumatic control systems, hydronics, boiler repair, cabinetry, plumbing, electronics, HVAC, electronic control systems, hydraulics, boiler operations, carpentry, and painting.

Nice To Haves

• Familiarity with NFPA Life Safety Codes.
• Familiarity with National Electrical Codes.

Responsibilities

• Perform general and preventative maintenance tasks.
• Troubleshoot equipment and systems, effecting appropriate repairs and modifications.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, employees, patients, and the public.
• React calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
• Communicate clearly and accurately in English, both verbally and in writing.
• Read and understand written instructions and product labels in English.
