About The Position

Tarantino Properties is seeking a Commercial Maintenance Engineer for office buildings in the Austin area.
The commercial maintenance engineer is responsible for performing a wide range of duties across a variety of trades including plumbing, sheetrock, cleaning, painting, flooring, carpentry, concrete repair, and other related work.

Job Summary:
Perform preventive maintenance and repair of buildings, equipment, and grounds on a commercial building portfolio throughout the Austin & Central Texas area.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED, preferably associate's degree or other trade school experience
• Minimum 2 years of direct work experience in commercial property maintenance and operations.
• Must be a professional, dependable, flexible, & accountable individual with effective communication skills, positive attitude, & excels at Tenant relations.
• Must be motivated, takes initiative to complete tasks without constant direct supervision.
• Must have knowledge of facility maintenance & repairs including but not limited to, electrical, mechanical, HVAC, carpentry, locksmith, painting, & other general repairs
• Must have reliable transportation & good driving record
• Must be able to pass pre-hire drug & background screening
• Must have reliable transportation and driver's license

Nice To Haves

• Additional professional certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform completion of work orders and maintenance requests, emergency repairs & response calls, and preventative maintenance.
• Inspect the properties regularly and ensure all building systems (elevator, HVAC, fire, plumbing, electrical, etc.) are working properly and are well maintained.
• Inspect and oversee any maintenance or repairs made by third party vendors to ensure the work is done properly as per the scope of work.
• Responds quickly to emergency situations including afterhours emergency calls
• Perform other duties as needed as determined by Property Manager
