About The Position

The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for ensuring optimal performance and reliability of all production equipment and facility systems through preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair activities. Primary responsibilities include planning, coordinating, and supervising maintenance activities to ensure equipment, machinery, and facilities are in optimal working condition. They develop maintenance schedules, manage budgets, ensure compliance with safety regulations, and implement preventive maintenance programs. This role requires hands-on technical expertise in mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems to diagnose and resolve equipment issues that impact production efficiency and safety.

Requirements

  • Have 1+ year troubleshooting machinery or equipment, manufacturing industry preferred
  • Background in electrical troubleshooting
  • Have good problem-solving and mathematical skills
  • Have good mechanical knowledge
  • Read and interpret blueprints efficiently
  • Perform physical actions which may include frequent bending, twisting, reaching, walking, consistent standing, and the ability to lift/carry and push/pull objects

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventive maintenance for production equipment, building systems, and facilities.
  • Perform scheduled mechanical maintenance on manufacturing equipment.
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues causing machine downtime.
  • Disassemble, repair, replace parts, reassemble, and test machinery for proper functionality.
  • Fabricate guards, racks, and equipment stands using gas and arc welding equipment.
  • Perform electrical work, including replacing fuses, switches, lamps, cords, plugs, and receptacles.
  • Read and understand electrical schematics to troubleshoot and repair electrical issues with machinery and around the facility.
  • Conduct minor maintenance on air compressors, heating, cooling units, water lines, and plumbing.
  • Assist in the installation and relocation of production and building equipment.
  • Inspect and maintain building, equipment, and grounds for safety and operational efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate records, update maintenance schedules, and report unusual issues to the supervisor.
  • Perform general upkeep, including snow removal and facility cleaning.
  • In charge of managing the building grounds including scheduling snow removal, lawn, and fertilizer services.
  • Operate mechanical hand tools, welding equipment, measuring instruments, power tools, forklifts, and computer terminals.
  • Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Actively involved in plant safety efforts and leading safety trainings as required.
  • Manage environmental compliance efforts for the plant and serve on the environmental team.
  • Responsible for annual environmental reporting.
  • Ordering of supplies needed for maintenance work.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned and required.
