About The Position

The Maintenance Engineer at MIT Lincoln Laboratory is responsible for ensuring the effective maintenance and operation of laboratory assets. This role involves creating and managing maintenance plans, utilizing the SAP maintenance module, and collaborating with various teams to support facility operations and special projects. The position requires fieldwork, including asset documentation and emergency response during off-hours, to maintain a safe and efficient environment for the laboratory community.

Requirements

  • Experience in facility maintenance and construction within a research environment is desired.
  • Proficient in the use and navigation of an equipment/maintenance management system, preferably SAP.
  • Overall knowledge of facilities maintenance and operations, including utilities such as electricity, steam, domestic water, CHW, and sanitary services.
  • Ability to read and understand construction documents, including drawings and specifications.
  • Knowledge of Building Management Systems including Andover Continuum, Struxureware, and Automated Logic Systems.
  • Organized with excellent administrative, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

  • Create and assign maintenance plans for all laboratory assets within the SAP maintenance module.
  • Ensure that asset information is input and continually updated in the SAP maintenance module.
  • Provide input to the Infrastructure planner regarding the FSD equipment renewal Program database.
  • Maintain and store tests, inspections, balancing reports, and warranties within the SAP maintenance module.
  • Assist in creating and managing outside vendor maintenance and service contracts.
  • Contact and schedule all PM work performed by outside service support vendors.
  • Work with operations, supervisors, and facility engineers to adjust maintenance plans for special projects.
  • Reference all EHS policies and procedures when creating maintenance plans.
  • Assist in developing KPIs to identify areas for improvement in efficiency and equipment prioritization.
  • Assist in planning maintenance shutdown weekends and other events outside normal work hours.
