Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous maintenance or engineering experience in a hotel, resort, or commercial building preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of building systems and maintenance procedures required.
  • Experience performing repairs during minimal supervision periods preferred.
  • General knowledge of plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and carpentry repairs.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities, especially during off-peak hours.
  • Ability to respond to urgent maintenance needs quickly and effectively.
  • Understanding of safety, OSHA standards, and proper equipment handling.
  • Ability to work independently during evening hours.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., climb ladders, and work in various physical environments.
  • Strong communication and guest service skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical or trade school training in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or related fields preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Respond promptly to guestroom and public area maintenance requests during the PM shift.
  • Perform evening preventive maintenance tasks per schedule and assignments.
  • Troubleshoot and repair minor HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical issues.
  • Inspect and maintain lighting, air conditioning, fixtures, and equipment.
  • Address safety issues, spills, hazards, or urgent repairs reported during the shift.
  • Assist with cosmetic repairs, paint touch-ups, and basic carpentry tasks.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the engineering shop and work areas.
  • Complete work orders, PM logs, and service documentation accurately.
  • Provide support for evening events or operational needs, including minor setups or equipment checks.
  • Communicate any unresolved issues or major concerns to the morning engineering team.
  • Follow all safety procedures and company policies.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by engineering leadership.
